Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Candidate will have the following skills:

  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
  • Knowledge of basic UI design principles.
  • Experience with HTML GUI design and JavaScript.
  • Experience with PHP.
  • Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills and maintain regular, timely, accurate, and professional communication with the team.
  • Node.js, MySQL, and JSON experience a plus.


Duties and Tasks

The candidate will work within a team to develop an HTML GUI for thin clients. Candidate will be responsible for:

  • Development and enhancement of HTML user interfaces.
  • Development and enhancement of backend/server-side interface to an XML based registry.
  • Produce design documentation.
  • Bug fixing on existing interfaces.
  • Integration of interfaces to our management agent.


Specific Knowledge, Education, and Experience

Candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline with 3 to 5 years experience in web/gui design. Good communication skills are a must. Problem-solving skills and self-motivation are crucial to this position.

10ZiG 10ZiG Senior Lead Linux Firmware Engineer / US Headquarters

Overview

We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Lead Linux Firmware Engineer to join our team at our Phoenix, AZ Headquarters. Reporting directly into the Director of R&D, you will be responsible for the development of Linux firmware for X86 based devices.


Responsibilities

Candidate will work with engineers developing Linux Thin Client firmware for x86 based devices. Candidate will be responsible for:

  • Build/maintain/debug Linux kernel firmware and supporting infrastructure.
  • Document and release Linux firmware builds to support.
  • Work with support group to debug and fix bugs.
  • Evaluate competitors’ products and related technology.
  • Serve as a technical resource to both the team and management.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Candidate will have knowledge of the Linux operating system as follows:

  • Able to write shell scripts in sh, csh, or bash.
  • Able to use Linux based tools such as editors, compilers, graphical development utilities.
  • Understanding of the structure of the Linux operating system
  • Able to configure and build Linux kernel from source.
  • Able to build Linux kernel modules and drivers.
  • Able to integrate third party Linux drivers and utilities.
  • Understanding of the X11 graphical subsystem.

Candidate will be able to develop graphical interfaces and other custom utilities as follows:

  • Familiarity with at least one source control package.
  • Proficient in C/C++ and JavaScript.
  • Have used at least one graphical development tool under Linux, preferably Qt.

Duties and Tasks

Specific projects to include:

  • Port 32bit Linux firmware to 64bit
  • Maintain/Debug/Enhance Linux Repurposing Firmware (RPOS)


Specific Knowledge, Education, and Experience

Candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and at least 8 years of experience. Candidate must also have a proven track record of working within a team of engineers. Communication skills are a must.
